Setiap
negara tentu memiliki identitas atau lambang kebangsaan. Salah satunya adalah
bunga nasional yang menjadi lambang dari suatu negara, bunga kebangsaan
biasanya dipakai pada acara resmi negara dan tradisi keagamaan di negara
tersebut. Selain karena keindahannya, bunga nasional itu biasanya dipilih
karena keistimewaannya yang dapat mewakili karakteristik bangsa dan negara yang
bersangkutan.
Beberapa
negara mempunyai lambang bunga kebangsaan yang sama, hal itu biasanya karena
memang bunga tersebut tumbuh dalam teritorial yang sama pula, atau mungkin juga
karena karakteristik dan keindahan bunga
